Elementary Teacher K-2 Position

The Inspiration Academy is looking for a caring and dedicated Elementary Teacher (K-2) to assist in the growth and development of our amazing students. The elementary teacher will work mainly with our Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade students, focusing on phonics, reading, writing, early mathematics, science, and social studies. The right candidates will put students at the center of the learning and will create a supportive learning environment where all students are embraced for their unique skills, strengths, and personalities.
Position Roles & Responsibilities:
- Creating a caring & supportive learning environment for multi-age classes
- Establishing a sense of classroom community where all students feel included
- Designing and facilitating differentiated and personalized learning goals and activities that are aligned to instructional standards and student interests
- Adapting teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of students
- Encouraging students to explore learning opportunities with a growth mindset
- Being a mentor to the students and sharing your knowledge, interests, passions, and enthusiasm in an interactive and fun way
- Developing hands-on, engaging lessons based on interdisciplinary thematic units
- Working with multi-age students in whole group, small group, and one-on-one settings
- Ensuring classroom management in a calm and respectful way
- Communicating regularly with parents as important partners in learning
- Setting up learning centers and facilitating student learning
- Assisting with field trips and supervising students
Requirements:
- A willingness to think outside-the-box and teach in a non-traditional classroom environment
- A firm belief that all students can learn and excel if given the appropriate support
- A recognition of the relationship between social-emotional learning and academic performance, and an aspiration toward developing and teaching the whole child
- Patience for working with students of all ages and abilities
- Active listening skills to understand and adapt to student’s various needs and learning styles
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Creative teaching style that is based on active student engagement
- Ability to look beyond the walls of the classroom and get the students actively and meaningfully involved in the community
- Willingness to teach in a multi-age classroom environment with students from diverse backgrounds and levels of ability
- Understanding of and willingness to work with students with various learning strengths and challenges such as gifted, twice exceptional, attention deficit, hyperactivity, impulsiveness, autism, anxiety, dyslexia, speech impairments, hearing loss, learning delays, English language learners, and other strengths and challenges
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.

- Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification
