Students from The Inspiration Academy are learning new leadership skills and using their voices and skills to change the world. TIA students Roman, Alana, Perfecta, and Eli attended the SciTech Institute’s Chief Science Officer (CSO) Leadership Training Institute.
The 2-day training took place at the University of Advancing Technology (UAT) in Tempe. A very big Thank You to UAT for allowing us to use their amazing facility and providing us with delicious meals to fuel the students’ brains during the intense leadership training event.
The Inspiration Academy is a new K-12 private school in Fountain Hills, Arizona. Its unique curriculum includes multiple Community Modules where the students work alongside community organizations, industry leaders, and content experts to develop new programs, host events, learn real-life skills, and make a positive difference in the world.
The students at The Inspiration Academy are also part of the 4-H Empowered To Make a Difference club in Fountain Hills. 4-H has many different project areas, many of which are STEM and leadership focused.
The Chief Science Officer (CSO) STEM leadership program is one of the core programs of the SciTech Institute. CSO students become STEM ambassadors in their schools and in the community. The CSO students are required to develop action plans to bring STEM opportunities to the community. Mentors assist with the action plans and the SciTech Institute provides training and the valuable connection to a wealth of world-wide resources of the STEM Ecosystem.
