Carmen, an enthusiastic student at The Inspiration Academy, recently delivered an informative and engaging presentation about the Korean War to a group of veterans residing at the Fountain View Village retirement community.
What an incredible evening! On May 5th, 2025, The Inspiration Academy held its first-ever official talent show, and it was truly a night to remember. Our students showcased their remarkable abilities through a diverse array of performances, from breathtaking vocal performances to mesmerizing dance routines and spectacular gymnastics demonstrations. The success of this first talent show sets a wonderful precedent for future performances at The Inspiration Academy. We look forward to making this an annual tradition that continues to showcase the incredible talents within our school community.

Students from The Inspiration Academy private school who have gone through their Culinary Arts Module training volunteered once again at this year’s Flutter Gala. We thank the Fountain Hills Community Foundation for sponsoring this wonderful event, which helps fund local nonprofit groups that support youth, seniors, and families. This year’s event was held at the Centennial Pavilion at the Fountain Hills Community Center. We also thank Debbie J. Elder, owner of Culinary Curator, for her continued support of our school and our student volunteers. Our students helped Debbie’s staff prep and serve food to all of the event’s attendees.
We extend our gratitude to Byron Roman for sharing his expertise in Meso-American culture, history, and cuisine with our students at The Inspiration Academy. These kinds of cooking lessons are part of our Culinary Arts Module, one of 16 sub-programs within our Community Modules offered to students at our school.
During this first lesson, Byron guided our students through the preparation of corn and black bean tamales, while TIA students enjoyed sampling authentic chocolate from a cacao pod. Byron also explained the significance of our Fountain Hills Sister Cities relationship between Fountain Hills and Ataco, emphasizing the importance of cultural exchange and learning.
Our TIA students are looking forward to further cooking lessons with Byron.
Students from The Inspiration Academy had a live Q&A with astronauts aboard the International Space Station. Both Ariella’s and Preston’s questions were streamed live and answered.
Today, both staff and students of The Inspiration Academy took their CPR, First Aid, AED certification and training. In today’s world, the ability to respond effectively to emergencies is an invaluable skill. Schools, as foundational institutions in society, have the unique opportunity to equip students with essential life-saving techniques through comprehensive first aid and CPR training programs. These programs not only empower students with the knowledge and confidence to act in critical situations but also foster a sense of responsibility and community awareness.
Recently, The Inspiration Academy hosted a special event called Science on Wheels, a STEM program by the Arizona Science Center. This is an innovative and mobile education program, that was generously sponsored by AOA (Academic Opportunity of Arizona), one of our STO partners. The program holds a significant purpose; it seeks to actively engage students from all age groups in the diverse and intriguing world of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, often abbreviated as STEM. The ultimate goal of this program is to inspire and ignite a lifelong passion for science among the students, encouraging them to explore and understand the world around them from a scientific perspective.
The comprehensive nature of this program stands out, as it is highly interactive, providing students with hands-on experiences that go beyond the traditional classroom setting. The content offered by Science on Wheels is thoughtfully curated and is grade-specific, ensuring that it is accessible and beneficial to every student, regardless of their grade level. This is in line with the Arizona College and Career Readiness Standards and Next Generation Science Standards, which it aligns with perfectly. Such alignment ensures that the content provided not only expands the students’ knowledge but also prepares them for their future academic and career paths in the STEM fields. Science on Wheels will be an on-going repeat event hosted at our school and offered to both our in-person students and our homeschooling partners.
The Inspiration Academy would like to express its profound and heartfelt gratitude to Debbie J. Elder (Culinary Curator) and the Fountain Hills Community Foundation for their generous act of involving our students in the Flutter at the Fountain event. We are immensely proud of the culinary arts skills that our students have developed and honed over time, right here at our school. Their ability to put these skills into practice at community events such as these is a testament to their dedication and hard work. Our school believes in and encourages a hands-on approach, which is why community service forms an integral part of our curriculum. This is especially true for our Culinary Arts Community Module program, a unique offering at our private school located in the beautiful town of Fountain Hills. This program not only equips our students with culinary skills but also instills in them the spirit of community service, enabling them to contribute to society while also honing their culinary talents.
The Inspiration Academy’s Garden Project has recently “sprung” back to life now that the weather is getting warmer. As the temperatures rise, our students are reigniting their passion for gardening and the outdoors. Our garden project, which encourages students to learn about nature, sustainability, and healthy eating, had been paused during the colder months. However, with the onset of warmer weather, the gardening tools are out, and students are ready to start planting and tending to the garden again. The anticipation is high as everyone eagerly waits to see the “fruits” of their labor in the form of blooming flowers and thriving vegetables.
